Our Story

Netriva started with a frustration most people share: hair care that promises a great deal and explains almost nothing. Long ingredient lists, short on detail. Big claims, no way to check them.

We wanted the opposite. A shampoo built on herbs people have used for centuries, made in the United Kingdom, and honest about what it is — and what it isn't.

Why these four — and why we stand behind them

We didn't choose these herbs because they photograph well. Rosemary, nettle, He Shou Wu and ginger have been used on hair and scalp for centuries, across European folk practice and Chinese herbal tradition, and they are still in use today because generation after generation found them worth keeping. That is a long, unglamorous kind of evidence, and we take it seriously.

Rosemary is one of the most studied botanicals in hair care, and the scientific interest in it is real and ongoing. Nettle is genuinely rich in vitamins and minerals. He Shou Wu carries centuries of documented use behind it. Ginger has warmed and woken up skin for as long as anyone has been writing these things down.

We put them in at levels we are willing to defend, in a cleansing base with nothing in it we would be embarrassed to explain. No parabens, no silicones, no artificial fragrance, nothing added to make the list look longer.

So yes — we believe in this formula. We use it ourselves. We think a scalp that is properly cleansed, properly stimulated and consistently cared for is in a better place than one that isn't, and we think these four herbs are among the best natural tools for getting it there. That belief is the reason the company exists.

What we won't do with that belief

We won't turn it into a promise about your head.

Netriva is a cosmetic shampoo, not a medicine. We don't claim it treats hair loss, thinning, greying or any medical scalp condition, and we won't imply it — not in a headline, not in a photograph, not in the small print. Hair depends on genetics, health, stress, hormones and age: things no bottle reaches. Anyone who tells you otherwise about a shampoo is either selling you something they cannot deliver, or selling you a drug without a licence.

Believing in something and guaranteeing it are two different things. The honest distance between them is exactly where we have chosen to stand — and we would rather you trusted the sentences we do write.

So we put money where the belief is

Use the shampoo for six weeks. If it isn't for you, email us and we'll refund what you paid. You keep the bottle. No return, no postage, no form.

We can't promise you a result. What we can do is make sure that if we turn out to be wrong about you, it costs you nothing and it costs us. That seemed a fairer place to put our confidence than in a claim.

The botanicals

Rosemary — stimulating and refreshing on the scalp, and one of the most widely used herbs in traditional hair care.
Nettle — naturally rich in vitamins and minerals, long used as a root-to-tip tonic.
He Shou Wu (Fo-Ti) — a root used in Chinese herbal tradition for centuries and long associated with hair care.
Ginger — warming and invigorating, for a scalp that feels properly clean.

The part nobody sells you

Four minutes of scalp massage at every wash matters more than almost anything you can pour on your head. It is free, it works with any shampoo — including one that isn't ours — and we explain how to do it on every product page. A good formula and a good habit together are worth far more than either alone, and only one of them costs £15.

What we stand for
